In December 2022 the first Investment Policy and Diversification Strategy of Sint Maarten was published by the Council of Ministers.
Attracting foreign investment and a robust B2B matchmaking and promotion program is essential for the sustainable development of Sint Maarten.
In this policy the government presents the methodology for selecting priority sector for promotion and highlights the recommended pillars of Sint Maarten’s strategy as being:
1. Proactive promotion of strategic sectors
2. Build on base – encourage (re)investments of local and regional investors
3. Ease the path for investors
Priority sectors are agriculture, creative industries, financial services, logistics, renewable energy, telecommunication to name a few.
A country’s Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) will facilitate investors. This new body will directly report to the Minister of TEATT.
