RVO Launches Research for Business Match-making Opportunities in St. Maarten
For the reconstruction of St. Maarten, after hurricane Irma, a Trust Fund was set up under the management of the World Bank for the export of reconstruction activities. The Ministry of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations would like to encourage companies from the Kingdom to participate as much as possible in these reconstruction projects, in order to promote cooperation between local companies in St. Maarten and Dutch companies and thereby also encourage reconstruction projects after hurricane Irma. The Ministry of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations has asked RVO to help organize matchmaking between the two parties. Where Dutch companies have a lot of tendering experience, local companies are necessary for their relevant knowledge of the island and the stimulation of economic growth. RVO is pleased to announce the kickoff of this project which will be carried out in close collaboration with the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of TEATT, Ministry of Internal Affairs and KGMSXM and supplemented with knowledge from other parties such as Business Acceleration Platform Sint-Maarten-BAPS, Chamber of Commerce Rotterdam and Caribbean Chamber of Commerce in Europe. For the research, RVO would like to get in touch with companies interested in doing business in Sint Maarten so we can develop a good vision of what is needed to realize structural cooperation between companies from Sint Maarten and the Netherlands.
